The popular resale platform has altered its measurement guidelines for women's and children's garments but did not contact all users about the change. Social Media Backlash Many shoppers and sellers have taken to social media stating that platform listings now display a modified sizing category than originally posted as a result of the reclassification. Vinted explained the updated approach better aligns with similar services. They have suggested members to check their listings and update the measurements by hand when needed, which has left users frustrated. Size Classification Changes Earlier, the measurements included a single numeric size and a letter, such as S/8 or M/10. The new system has an alphabetical indicator and numerical range for example S/UK 8-10. With some products, the size labels have been reassigned - for example a size L was formerly size 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18. User Stories One content creator, who produces content about larger sizing, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult". "Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. Stephanie Gallen, located in Scotland, said garments she listed on Vinted with size 14 labels were showing in the marketplace as measurements 20-22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they may become frustrated," she said. Necessary Adjustments A different user, based in Derby, stated she felt frustrated because the modification necessitated personal updates the measurements for "each individual item".
